3. 1d red imperforate plate proof on thick buff manila paper (ACSC 2PP(1)A), a neat block of four. Just one sheet of 480 is known of this plate proof, and it was often cut into multiples like this. Some minor folds are normal and this is in fact in better condition than usually seen, with some overinking as an added attraction as well. Get $1200 cat. value for view block $749.00 4. 1d red imperforate plate proof on thick buff manila paper (ACSC 2PP(1)A), a block of four as above, however this lot also has wide selvedge at right and more creasing than normal. With each unit catalogued at $300, what a bargain this is at just $749.00 5. 1d red first wmk double perfs a striking top right corner block of 6 in mint condition, three units showing double perfs on three sides. From die IIA plate K, there is a minute thin on one of the bottom stamps, but all the variety units are fault-free and two are in pristine unhinged condition. Catalogued at $600 in hinged condition, all for only view block $849.00 6. 1d red die II first wmk double perfs a beautiful block of 4 with extra row of double perfs across the centre. The pair for view pair $259.00 8. 1d red die I first wmk double perfs an attractive single with selvedge at bottom and double perfs on three sides. In clean hinged condition, for view stamp $199.00 9. 1d red die I first wmk double perfs another single with selvedge at left and bottom. Affixed to black card for reinforcement, no gum and slight toning this an affordable choice for the beginner view stamp $189.00 10. 1d red first wmk punctured OS double perfs top left strip of 3 with lovely double perfs on three sides. Yet another variation on this popular theme, with different degrees of double perfs vertically and horizontally creating an attractive piece. Some toning visible mainly from the reverse, but clearly a nice piece from the front! For view block $549.00 11. 6d pale ultramarine die IIB third wmk punctured OS double perfs with the double perfs affecting the OS puncture rather than the side perfs. Unlisted in the ACSC, this is in clean condition and oh-so-lightly hinged $289.00 12. 6d chestnut overprinted OS top marginal block of four with a horizontal row of double perfs in the selvedge. Double perfs are much scarcer on this issue than on the early 1d red, and this piece is attractive from the front. Suntanned gum and slight reinforcing are visible only from the back, get $600 cat. value for only view block $299.00 13. 9d violet die IIB third wmk inverted (SG 39aw) in well-centered mint hinged condition. For view block $239.00 14. 9d violet die IIB third wmk punctured OS (SG O47) in unhinged condition. This stamp has good perfs and typical centering for an OS issue, only view stamp $139.00 15. 2/- brown second wmk (SG 29) in excellent mint lightly hinged condition. The scarcest of the three different 2/- browns, this example has good perfs and colour and is available for view stamp $899.00 16. 5/- grey and yellow second wmk (SG 30) in mint very lightly hinged condition. The hinge remain is so slight on this you can barely see it, and with the centering, perfs and colour all much better than average this certainly a premium stamp. For view stamp $1499.00 17. 5/- grey and yellow small multi wmk (SG 111) in superb well-centered mint condition. This is a real honey of a stamp and its very lightly hinged too, only view stamp $369.00 18. 10/- grey and pink CofA wmk (SG 136) in fine mint lightly hinged condition. Great centering, colour and perfs and very lightly hinged gum too mean this stamp would take pride of place in any collection! Good roos are getting harder to find view stamp $599.00 19. 10/- grey and pink CofA wmk (SG 136) in mint very lightly hinged condition. Another top example of a scarce kangaroo, this one is well-centered with great perfs and a thinner paper that lets the watermark show clearly from the front. A premium stamp, for view stamp $619.00 20. £1 brown and blue third wmk "SPECIMEN" with "break in value circle" variety (ACSC 52(D)h) in MUH condition. This stamp is ex-Chapman, so as youd expect its a spectacular example of this variety in top condition. Catalogued at $3000 as a hinged non-specimen, and remember this is in pristinely unhinged. A real beauty, for view stamp $1749.00 21. £1 chocolate and dull blue third wmk (SG 44) in used condition. Some very minor blemishes push this towards the "average used" end of the spectrum, but in fact it is in quite good condition for a stamp of this scarcity. Available for view stamp $949.00 22. £2 black and red first wmk Sperati forgery a "used" example of this famous forgery, unusual because it has a machine cancellation which should not have been used on £2 stamps. The tell-tale "scratch off Warrnambool" is clear and this is marked with BPA "SPERATI REPRODUCTION" cachet plus number on the reverse side. The ACSC states that only about two dozen examples exist in total, making this rarity a must-have item for both kangaroo and Sperati specialists. Available for view stamp $5499.00 23. £2 black and red third wmk "SPECIMEN" type B overprint with "dot on S" variety that looks like a dollar sign! There is very slight toning and some close perfs on this stamp, however the variety is very clear and its also very lightly cancelled. For view stamp $499.00 29. £2 black and red CofA wmk (SG 138) in used condition, very neatly cancelled with just a couple of shortish perfs view stamp $489.00 30. £2 black and red CofA wmk (SG 138) in used condition. 33. 1932 5/- Harbour Bridge with plate dot in upper left corner. One of the great rarities of pre-decimal commemoratives, plate dots on the 5/- Harbour Bridge have become extremely collectable over the years, as they were usually guillotined off when the sheets were prepared for issue to post offices. On this item the stamp itself is entirely MUH, and the top selvedge has been folded and hinged to an album page in the past. An expert hand could perhaps increase the value of this item by removing the hinge remainders and carefully reinforcing the selvedge for safety. This is not necessary, however, and with a catalogue value of $2500 for hinged its priced to sell at view stamp $1899.00 34. 1942 6d Kookaburra imprint at top a stunning top left corner block of 12, mis-cut to leave two full lines of the Authority imprint in the top selvedge! Very lightly hinged with good centering and colour, KGVI errors such as this have been extremely popular in recent months. Get this large multiple while you can for $225.00 35. 1942 6d Kookaburra imprint at top just like the lot above, however this is a gutter block of 8 with the imprint in the top selvedge at right. Very well centered and entirely MUH, this is an interesting positional variation $225.00 36. 1966 5c blue QEII marginal block of 4 of the sheet stamps, with multiple strikes of "SPECIMEN ONLY" and "CANCELLED" in red. An unusual variation not listed in the ACSC, for $25.00 37. 1996 Decimal Currency black portfolio special edition folder containing a commemorative gutter strip of the 1996 Queens Birthday issue with unique black serial number, plus a $5 note with matching serial number as well.
