OSN #106 - VIVA LAS VEGAS!!

By the time you read this, I will have celebrated the marriage of my only daughter Nicky to Steven in Las Vegas, USA. With much excitement the day has come around very quickly, and there are many last minute things to attend to! Nicky will become Nicky Surnicky (a little tricky), I wish them much joy and a wonderful new life together. Please be kind to Damien who has been very patient with the lead-up to this event, he will be running the office while I’m away almost entirely on his own. So if your order is a little delayed, I hope you will understand... I am off to celebrate and will be having a nice holiday in the US after the wedding. Thank you to those who have passed on their kind wishes to the happy couple. I will try and be a very good mother-in-law!

108. Natal 1857-61 1/- buff Arms embossed in plain relief on coloured wove paper (SG 7), in fine used condition with grille cancel of Pietermaritzburg. The earliest stamps of some colonies were printed in such a simple fashion that both official and non-official reprints could be (and often were) made in later years, which could be very hard to distinguish from the real deal. The extreme difficulty of obtaining genuine stamps of this type means many collectors simply do not try to fill these gaps, which is a shame. It is with great pleasure that we can offer a genuine stamp from the earliest days of Natal, with a 2006 Royal Philatelic Society of London certificate stating it is genuine. Catalogued at £5500, this stamp is yours for view stamp $1799.00
