KANGAROOS

9. 3d black plate proof block of 4 (ACSC 12PP(1)A). The ACSC states that multiples are scarce and that "very few blocks" survive. Therefore this lot comprises 10% of the known units, and is even more significant because it includes a die I/II pair! This is a truly magnificent item that would enhance any specialist exhibit or collection. Immaculate pedigree (this piece was in the Arthur Grey collection), for view item $4749.00

141. Australian reprints collection over 60 Seven Seas hingeless illustrated pages complete with MUH stamps, each produced to display a different koala or kangaroo reprint of the decimal era. This album contains dozens and dozens of stamp and booklet reprints from 1 Koala to 4 Koala, and up the back is a hagner page containing several 1 Kangaroo reprints as well. These reprints are popular and time-consuming to collect one-by-one, and some of them command a significant premium above face value. The total face value adds up to more than $260 but the retail value is much higher if sold separately! Don’t forget that the Seven Seas pages are also worth over $2 each to purchase new, get this entire album in a binder with slipcase for only $199.00
142. Australian FDC collection a great starter album with more than 100 covers from 1966 to 1984 all housed in a blue Cumberland FDC album. All are in good condition apart from the first handful, start yourself off in FDCs for just $49.00
143. Czechoslovakia collection of mostly CTO stamps from 1915 to 1991, all housed on hagner pages in two white binders. Though this is not an illustrated album, all the stamps are laid out in chronological order and all SG numbers are neatly annotated alongside each page. There are way more than 1500 stamps here, with a large proportion of them actually in full sets! Condition is generally excellent making this a superb buy, get both albums for only $109.00
144. Jersey FDC collection of more than 225 covers from the first issue in 1969 to 2000, all housed in five dedicated First Day Cover albums. The vast majority of all FDCs are included in this collection, including some better items such as 1969 definitives, 1993 "no value" locals all 3 ms on the one cover and the 2000 £10 Gold definitive. Nearly all covers are in top condition, with slight toning on just a handful of the earlier items. A quick count of the UK retail for all the covers included adds up to more than £470, and there are even a couple of extras also present not counted in that total! Get all 225+ covers in five albums for only $599.00
145. Papua New Guinea collection of mint stamps from 1952 to 1990, all housed on Seven Seas hingeless pages in two binders. This value collection is complete apart from two standard issues (£1 Queen and 1968 Shells definitives) and almost entirely unhinged; while some of the early issues are lightly mounted the key 1952 set is all MUH. Condition is mostly excellent with only a handful of earlier stamps and pages in need of attention - overwhelming it is in fine condition, and as a bonus this includes nearly all of the pre-decimal Postage Dues too! Our list price just for the standard sets included here adds up to more than $600 and that doesn’t include the album which would cost a lot to purchase brand new. As always you can save a fortune when you buy a collection, all this for $299.00
146. Papua New Guinea Air Letter collection of 29 mostly mint air letters from 1953 to 1976 in a black binder. These curios are not commonly seen and this album includes the scarcer early items such as first 1953 10d letter mint and used (cat. $50 and $75); special commemorative 1953 Qantas Coronation airletter used to London; 1960 WHO aerogramme x4 mint and 1 used; plus numerous later items. The catalogue value of this is well over $300 and the condition is generally very good considering the thin nature of the paper. get the lot for only $99.00
147. Netherlands collection of more than 1000 stamps from 1921 to 1997, all housed on hagner pages in a white binder. Nearly every stamp is neatly ordered and annotated with catalogue details, and is superb value at this price! Start your Netherlands album today for just $49.00
148. New Zealand collection of mint and used stamps from 1862 to 1981, all housed in a quality red stockbook. This collection deserves a good look, because close inspection reveals loads of better stamps are included such as: 6d blue full face Queen perforated, heavily used but fault-free; assorted used sidefaces and postal fiscals with fiscal cancels (incl. £1 perfin); over 25 1898 pictorial types from ½d to 2/- used incl. 2½d "Wakitipu" used and 2½d "Wakatipu" mint (some toning); 1906 Christchurch Exhibition set of 4 in mint condition, all with gum toning to a greater or lesser degree but still a scarce set mint; King Edward II set used; Victory set of 6 mint (gum toning); Dunedin Exhibition set of 3 mint, mostly clean; 2/- and 3/- Admirals avg used with parcel cancels; 1931 4d airmail clean FU plus 7d Airmail clean mint; 5d/3d Airmail MLH and 7d Trans-Tasman Airmail fine used; loads of assorted KGV and KGVI defins and commems mostly in used condition; QEII Queens on Horseback used set of 4, with the key 10/- in good condition. From the 1960s onwards condition improves markedly, with stamps such as: 1960 and 1967 defins mostly complete used or mint including the high values; 1967-70 defins mostly complete and MUH; 1969 Cook MS MUH; and more. The condition may sound daunting at first, but if you add up what top quality examples of the stamps above would cost you can see this is priced extremely well (eg. the Christchurch Exhibition set alone is valued at more in good quality mint hinged condition than we are asking for this entire collection!). A great way for the budget-conscious collector of NZ to extend their collection for a song, at just $299.00
149. New Zealand collection of mostly very good condition items from 1960 to 1975, all housed on hand-written album pages in a red springback binder. The better items included in this collection are: 1960 pictorial definitives MLH set of 23; 1967 pictorial defins mostly complete mint; 1967-69 defins mostly complete mint; 1969 Cook MLH clean set of 4 plus a slightly toned minisheet on FDC; 1970-76 definitives MLH; and the majority of commems for the period mint and used including Healths (not MS). A bargain at $69.00
150. Great Britain collection a tiny stockbook containing several nice pre-decimal issues, including: 1924 and 1925 Empire Exhibition sets fine MLH; QEII Wilding simplified mint set of 17 to 1/6 mostly MUH; QEII Castles set of 4 very fine used; and 10 other mostly mint hinged commem sets.
