Each stamp has four clear margins and there is an expertly repaired partial tear at top between the pair (the no clouds variety is totally untouched by it). A clean and attractive example of this scarce shade, this stamp comes with Drury certificate (1999) and is known as "Queensland No. 16". Now catalogued at $2250 used, this one is only view stamp $1349.00 37. 1½ red single wmk "cracked electro through RVT to right frame" (ACSC 89(U)n) in fine used condition. One of the rarer cracked electros, this example is very clear and the light cancel is well away from the variety. One small corner crease visible only from the back does not detract, this stamp is catalogued at $500 but available here for just view stamp $329.00 38. 2d red single wmk "cracked electro" through left wattles" (ACSC 96(8)fa) in used condition. 50. 1914 6d engraved Kookaburra (SG 14) mint hinged block of four. Multiples of this stamp are uncommon, and this one looks quite clean and nice from the front as the illustration shows. There is some perf separation and a crease affecting the bottom two units, however this lot is priced to offer a useful multiple at great value! The block is view block $189.00 51. 1933 Pigeon Post cover with inverted vignette on the Gala Day of Sydney Festival Week 1933, 550 covers were sent by pigeon to three different inner city locations. Each cover featured a special overprinted vignette, and just 4% of the vignettes were printed with the overprint inverted! According to a pencil notation on the reverse a mere 10 covers were flown with inverted vignette, and they are catalogued highly in the specialist Airmail Catalogue (Eustis PP5d). This example is in excellent condition view block $675.00 52. 1935 1/- Anzac perf 13½x12½ (ACSC 165PP(1)) in mint unhinged condition. This stamp was normally issued with line perf 11, however just one sheet is known perforated 13½x12½ (the same perf as the 2d value). Catalogued at $2500, this is just view block $1699.00 53. 1937 3d blue KGVI die Ia "white face" variety (ACSC 192c) in very fine used condition. This is a distinctive stamp where the Kings face and leaves appear very white due to ink stripping. Catalogued at $60 used, this is just $55.00 54. 1942 5½d Emu with misplaced perfs (ACSC 232ba) a stunning block of four of this variety, the ACSC states that only one sheet was misperfed in this way. Entirely mint unhinged with slight creasing/tiny tone spot on the lower left unit only, this multiple of a striking variety is only view block $649.00 55. 1948 10/- thin paper Robes (SG 177a) in well-centered mint unhinged condition $49.00 56. 1948 10/- thin paper Robes (SG 177a) block of four in well-centered MUH condition with selvedge, a very attractive multiple. Only $189.00 57. 1949-50 Arms SPECIMENS set of 3 in mint lightly hinged condition $75.00 58. 1949 10/- Arms bottom left corner block of four in MUH condition, with no imprint in bottom selvedge (ACSC 269za). This scarce "no imprint" is well-centered and attractive from the front, with very slight suntanned gum the only blemish to note. Now catalogued at $300 for the block, this is great value at just $99.00 59. 1956 1/- Melbourne Olympics misperf (ACSC 334b). This is without doubt one of the most striking perforation errors of any Australian Commonwealth stamp! We have illustrated it with a normal stamp for comparison, so you can see how crazy this mistake really is. According to the ACSC "at least two perforated strips of 5 and some single stamps are recorded showing very bad misperforation", meaning there may be as few as a dozen other examples known. It is a great pleasure to offer such a beautiful error, for view error stamp | view normal stamp $1299.00 60. 1963 Christmas "double perfs" a top left corner strip of 5 with double perfs affecting all units. Only 1 row of this error has been found meaning this multiple represents half the known examples! Entirely MUH without a trace of toning, creasing or other faults - simply a superb perforation error. For view block $699.00 61. 1963-64 pre-decimal Navigators (SG 355-60) the set of 6 in MUH blocks of 8. These may one day be broken into small blocks or even sets, but what a shame that would be! Large multiples are very attractive especially on a scarcer issue like this, and each block in this lot is in fine condition. Our list price for a single set is $150, however get all the blocks of 8 here for only $1049.00 62. 1965 2/6 Aborigine emergency printing "no imprint" corner block of 8 (ACSC 267za) in very clean and well-centered MUH condition. A striking piece, for $349.00 63. 1965 2/6 Aborigine emergency printing (SG 253a) in superb MUH block of 4 $49.00 64. 1965 Anzac Anniversary (SG 373-5) full set of 3 in MUH blocks of 20 $39.00 65. 1965 ICY block of 20 with selvedge on three sides plus plate number at left, all MUH $29.00 66. 1966 $4 Navigator "offset" (ACSC 466c) in MUH condition. The ACSC states that just one sheet is known with "an off-centre strong offset", meaning just 100 examples were ever made. Undercatalogued at $400, I have never seen an offset on this particular value before! Available for view stamp $449.00 67. 1972 ANPEX reproduction sheetlets three MS featuring facsimiles of the £1 and £2 kangaroos plus 5/- Harbour Bridge, each individually numbered and with black, blue or red "ANPEX 1972" at top left. All are "cancelled", for $29.00 68. 1978 20c Little Grebe "yellow omitted" (ACSC 805cb) in marginal block of four with each unit affected. The absent Yellow is usually present around the beak and eyes, and a normal block of four is also included with this lot for comparison. These stamps are catalogued at $250 each and three in this block are unhinged (the fourth has a small adhesion). Get them all for just view block $299.00 69. 1981 55c Stick-nest rat (ASC 808) MUH block of 6 (three rows of 2) with the horizontal perfs skipped 3mm high between the 2nd and 3rd rows. With selvedge at bottom this variety is attractive and very clean, and the whole block is only $39.00 70. 1983 27c Ulysses Butterfly imperf pair (ACSC 1001b) in MUH condition. It is believed that just 4 or 5 rows of one sheet were not correctly perforated, making this a very scarce variety. Greece (Ikaria Free State) 1912 definitives complete set of 8 (SG 1-8) in mostly used condition, with just two of the lowest values mint. All 8 values for only $29.00 112. Thuringia - Russian Occupation Zone 1945 10RM Christmas Souvenir sheet rouletted around the stamps only and printed on thick white paper (SG RF10) in mint unhinged condition. This is one of the rarest of the post-war German issues, as just 5000 were printed in this format (now catalogued at £950). In excellent condition considering its age and the circumstances of the time, with just a couple of tiny tone spots on the gum. 115. Australian collection of used stamps from 1913 to 2006, all housed in a red Lighthouse stockbook. This is almost a "bulk lot" given the quantity of stamps present, and I dont mean duplication! Amongst the hundreds and hundreds of stamps here I noted: 15 kangaroos to 6d ultramarine; 40 KGV heads including several OS/NSW up to 4d orange and 4d blue; 6d engraved Kookaburra; Victorian Centenary, Macarthur, Anzac, Sth Aust Centenary and NSW Sesqui sets all complete; Arms complete set of 4; pre-decimal Navigators set to 10/-; loads of other pre-decimal and early decimal commems and defins; and over 1000 other decimals right up to 2006 including quite a few self-adhesive commems and some high values too. But as they say: wait, theres more! Also included are: more than 100 stamps from various pre-Federation colonies; Norfolk Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands and Nauru mint and/or used; plus from AAT the 1966 decimal defins complete and more than $35 face value in mint AAT stamps too. The condition of the stamps is mostly at the lesser end of the scale, as the price would suggest, however there are quite a few good condition items and taken as a whole this collection is still outstanding value. This collection is 100% complete for the standard issues including gutter pairs self-adhesives and booklet stamps, and it also contains nice extras such as 1970 ANPEX minisheet and 1971 Christmas pane of 25. Condition is mostly excellent with only the edges of album pages showing signs of age; the stamps themselves are almost entirely in nice clean condition. The total face value of MUH stamps adds up to more than $700, and dont forget that includes some better items such as 1971 Christmas pane of 25 in that figure as well! KGVI Coronation Omnibus an almost-complete set mostly in fine used condition, with just a handful of sets present mint. Only four sets are missing (Newfoundland, Malta, Tangier and Trinidad and Tobago), get all the other issues in one lot for only $89.00 120. Iceland collection of MUH stamps from 1940 to 2006, often in blocks of 4 and including a good number of better sets as well, all housed on hagner pages in a blue binder. This is easily one of the finest collections I have seen from this tiny nation, as it includes many good items such as: 1944 Proclamation of Republic set of 6 (cat. £50); 1948 Volcanoes set of 7; 1952 25k Parliament Building (£120); 1952 Death of Bjornsson set of 4; and 1954 Hafstein Anniversary in blocks of 4. These are just a tiny fraction of the stamps included - we have not checked thoroughly but it looks like the vast majority of stamps from across the period are present, often in multiples and always in top MUH condition. This is yet another lot that needs to be seen to be truly appreciated, however there is more than £900 catalogue value just in items valued at £5 or more - most of the stamps present are not even included in that total! Get the whole collection for just $699.00 121. New Zealand collection of mixed mint and used stamps from 1878 to 1983, all housed on older-style KaBe hingeless pages in a green binder. A lovely "mixed bag" of stuff with some better stamps as well as less expensive items as well. This collection has: more than 300 pre-decimal stamps including some used Queen Victoria and 1898 pictorials; King Edward VII set of 8 used plus 3 officials; 7 mint and 12 used KGV heads up to 1/-, plus some officials; 1930 Health mint; most 1930s Airmails used; 10 used Arms-type fiscals to £1; Queen on horseback used set of 4; 1960 10/- Glacier mint and £1 Geyser used. The decimal section is almost entirely mint with some better items such as 1967 Health MS and 1970 pictorials plus $5 Beehive MUH. Condition is quite variable with a good proportion of stamps showing their age, however that makes this a great buy for the bargain beginner or a nice gift lot for the grandkids. Get over 300 pre-decimals and more than 350 decimals for only $159.00 122. QEII Coronation Omnibus the complete set of 106 in mint hinged condition $65.00 123. Rhodesia collection of mint and used stamps covering the period 1924 to 1979, all housed in a Salisbury stamp album. Neatly divided into mint and used, the mint section contains 6 different stamps from the 1924-29 series in MUH condition including the 2/-, and then virtually every "Southern Rhodesia" set from 1937 KGVI Coronation in mint hinged condition including 1937 KGVI defins set of 13 (cat. £65), 1953 QEII defins set of 14 (£55) and 1964 QEII definitives set of 14; 1959 Rhodesia and Nyasaland QEII MLH set of 15 (£95); plus lots of other less expensive sets. The used section also contains some nice issues such as 1935 KGV Jubilee commercially used; 1937 KGVI defins set of 13; 1953 QEII definitives set of 14; 1954 QEII defins set complete except for the £1; 1959 QEII defins set of 15; 1960 Rhodesia and Nyasaland Kariba set of 6; plus loads of other sets right up to the end of the 1970s. Condition is generally good with only a handful of stamps showing their age, and the catalogue value just of the better sets alone (ie. cat. over £10 per set) adds up to more than £600. With all the other stamps included this lot is great value, the entire album is only $329.00 124. Rhodesia FDC collection containing more than 65 covers from 1947 to 1983, including items such as 1947 Royal Visit with Tour cancel; 1966 Airways 20th Anniversary; 1964 Southern Rhodesia set to 2/6; 1974 and 1978 definitives covers; and a 1966 Independence overprints cover in pristine addressed condition which the previous owner paid more than $320 for back in the 1980s! Loads of thematics are represented here including African animals, aircraft, royalty, plants, agriculture, trains, bridges, birds and more. Condition is generally excellent, with most covers unaddressed, get the lot for just $59.00
