This is the first edition of Stamp News published by its new owners. We sincerely hope that it will be a positive step for all the loyal readers of this magazine, and we encourage your feedback by mail, phone or email about your ability to find, read and subscribe to the Stamp News. Australian philately needs a good forum for exchanging information and ideas and promoting growth in our hobby, and any constructive comments about the magazine would be appreciated. Victoria 1884-96 £2 blue Stamp Duty (SG 263) with postal cancellation $99.00

First wmk kangaroo ½d green inverted watermark lightly used (SG 1bw) $29.00

Third wmk kangaroo 5/- grey and yellow (SG 42) in fine used condition with neat corner CDS top left. The yellow is so pale the watermark is actually visible from the front, a nice stamp $49.00

CofA wmk kangaroo 5/- grey and yellow (SG 135) in beautiful mint condition, with full perfs and very deep colours. A small paper inclusion on the gum side does not detract at all, for $129.00
5.
CofA wmk kangaroo £2 black and rose (SG 138) in used condition. This stamp has an expertly repaired top corner and two Registered CDS cancellations as the picture at right shows, with mostly full perfs. A reasonably nice stamp, and at half our list price its a great space filler for your album! view stamp $199.00

1929 3d airmail type A all the plate blocks of four ever made for this issue in mint condition. These are very clean and hinged only in the selvedge, a great looking set of four top left blocks $125.00

1929 3d airmail type B Ash imprint block of four (ACSC 135z) very clean and neat mint piece with a very light hinge remain on one unit only $59.00

1930 1½d Sturts Centenary full set of 8 plate blocks in lovely mint condition, all unhinged except for plate 4 which is hinged in the selvedge only. Save time and money and the whole lot for $89.00

1966 Decimals Specimen Folders two folders each with a set of 1c to 50c definitives cancelled-to-order plus the 75c to $4 values overprinted "SPECIMEN" as issued by the Post Office. I have put these two folders together (as we purchased them) because one is on a green card with a date "/63" and reference "C.11841", and the other is a cream folder ref "C.6103/66". I have not seen the green folder before and believe it may be an emergency issue released early in 1966. One for the specialist, both folders each complete with stamps for $399.00

1970 Expo First Day Cover the first official FDC (PW1) in fine unaddressed condition $59.00

1970 Royal Visit First Day Cover the second official FDC, also clean and unaddressed $49.00

2000 Last Anzacs booklet error this missing colour booklet error has risen spectacularly in value since we first offered them in July last year. They proved very popular and we have managed to re-purchase just one of these full booklets containing two errors (SG 1951ab). Stamp Pack collection housed in four large PW stamp pack albums covering the period 1969-1994. This collection is almost complete and includes some better items and rarities such as the 1970 Royal Visit Japanese text, 1970 Definitives and 1971 Christmas. Every album and cover is in remarkably good condition, and with the stamps alone having a face value of over $530, this is is a steal at $549.00

Yearbook collection a full set of official Australia Post yearbooks in top condition from 1981 to 2001. These albums are as issued and complete with stamps, and at this price theyre almost below face value! There is one only of this set available at the special price of just $799.00

Deluxe yearbook collection from 1986 onwards Australia Post produced its yearbooks in handsome black leather-feel binders. The contents are exactly the same as the standard yearbook but they look very classy, this is the set complete from 1986-2001 except for the 1997 edition, all 15 for $799.00

East Africa and Uganda 1912-21 500r overprinted "SPECIMEN" (SG 63s). This high value stamp is actually MUH and in great condition despite two tiny marks near the left value tablet. It is catalogued at a whopping £550, but its the only way most of us can fill that space! view stamp $299.00

Tristan da Cunha 1960 Marine Life definitives complete set of 14 (SG 28-41) in clean mint unhinged condition $49.00

Flight cover collection box of over 120 different first flight covers covering the period 1951-1966, mostly related to early Qantas and BOAC flights. Not all are listed in Eustis however it does include: 1951 Australia-Chile-Australia first experimental (cat. $50); 1951 Melbourne-Christchurch; 2x 1951 Australia-Netherlands; 4 different 1953 Coronation flights; 3x 1955 Cocos Is-Australia. There are 10 different intermediate covers from the first jet flight between Sydney and London (1959); 5 different from the first Sydney-San Francisco flight (1959); 4 different covers from the London-Christchurch air race (1953); more than 50 different souvenir covers marking BOACs first flights to Sydney, Santiago, Mauritius, Johannesburg, Bogota, Manila, and Auckland; plus extra NZ, Concorde and Pacific island covers too many to mention. The condition varies and many covers have toning on the edges, but there is great variety and this lot is sure to please $299.00

Malaysia collection an early Malaysian collection on hagner pages covering the period 1957-1974. This neat lot contains every issue for the Malayan Federation plus all the national issues of Malaysia (except 1965 $10 Bird) in mint or used condition, with only minor toning on some stamps. Modestly catalogued at a little over £50, this would be a good starter lot for a Malaysia collector $49.00

New Zealand "Wages Tax" collection this small collection comprises hundreds of Employment and Unemployment Relief stamps from 1934-49, all used and many of them on piece. The Employment group has more than 100 stamps including 5x £4, 38x £1, 7x 10/-, and 4x 8d all catalogued at over £300. The Unemployment stamps include: from the 1934 series over 190 stamps such as 10x £4, 99x £1 (cat. value £750); more than 130 of the 1936 overprints on Social Security (eg. 17x £4 and 34x £1) catalogued at over £500. All to be sold as a lot for $449.00

The Australian Commonwealth Specialists Catalogue says only 5 of this number survive! 1973 7c WHO Anniversary - the misplaced blue variety in a corner block of 6 with paper folds on the blue colour only 1983 27c Commonwealth Day - gutter block of 10 with one pair missing yellow. The omission is partly obscured by an ink smear, however this error is certified genuine and completely unknown before now
